Terms of Service
Last updated 9 September 2026
These terms cover your use of Stitches, a cross stitch pattern editor for macOS, Windows, iOS, Android and the web. Using the app means accepting them. They are deliberately short, because the app does very little on your behalf: it runs on your device and writes to storage you control.
What you get
Permission to use Stitches for designing, editing and stitching cross stitch patterns, for personal or commercial work. Patterns you create are yours. No claim is made over your designs, and nothing you make is licensed to anyone by using the app.
Your account and your storage
Connecting Google Drive or an S3 bucket is optional. When you do, you remain responsible for that account: its credentials, its contents, its costs where any apply, and its terms with whoever provides it. Stitches reads and writes only what it needs to, and for Google Drive can only see files it created itself.
Keep your own backups of anything you would be upset to lose. Cloud storage is not a backup, and neither is a single device.
What you must not do
- Use the app to infringe someone else's copyright, including redistributing patterns you do not have the right to share.
- Use it to break the law, or to breach the terms of a storage provider you have connected.
- Attempt to use it to reach data in someone else's account.
Other people's patterns
Stitches can import PDFs and files in other formats so you can stitch patterns you already own. Whether you are entitled to import, convert or keep a particular pattern is between you and whoever made it. The app does not check, and cannot.
Availability
Stitches is provided as it is. There is no uptime commitment, no guarantee that a given feature will keep working, and no promise that a future version will read every file an older one wrote, although breaking that is always treated as a bug rather than a decision.
Features that depend on someone else's service, such as Google Drive, depend on that service continuing to exist and to behave as documented.
No warranty
The app is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non infringement. Nobody promises it is free of defects.
Limits
To the fullest extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for lost patterns, lost work, lost time, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app.
This does not affect consumer rights that cannot be waived where you live.
Changes and ending
These terms may change; the date above will say when. Continuing to use the app after a change means accepting the new version. You can stop at any time by uninstalling it, and disconnect a storage provider at any time from within settings.
